Bow Hunter Derek
Re: GPS I have the Etrex Legend. I think they run around $160 or so. Great unit for the money. It has the base road system in it and can be upgraded with detailed streets and topo data. Plus there are a variety of accessories available for it. I hunted with a guy a couple months ago who bought one of the new Magellan Explorist units. I don't remember which one. After seeing what my Legend would do he swore he was going to return his when he got home. He was very disappointed with the unit. One of the things he did not like was that to plug it into the lighter in a car, you have to take out the batteries. Also, I don't think there is a PC cable and software upgrade option like the Legend. He said he was also disappointed in that there were very few accessories available for the unit, but that may change as they are relatively new. I'd get the time tested Etrex, but it's your dime, so get what suits you best.

ThethirdI
Re: GPS Garmin Etrex like GWSmith has and I wouldn't trade that little bugger for the world. It has gotten me out of a couple of jams. The wife bought it for me and it was worth every cent she spent on it.
Strut10
Re: GPS I've got the Garmin e-Trex base, yellow model, too. Works great!! I think they're right around $100. Remember: Magellan is a french-owned company
