There are plenty of other drivers that have what it takes to make it in Cup and don't have a ride because of drivers like this. The 25 and 11 cars are a joke to me. I don't like Leffler at all after he wrecked Mikey and Bud Junior last year at the Daytona Busch race on the last lap. But all he's been doing is crashing. Vickers was suppose to be so good and going to be a start, but it took him over 48 races to get his first top 5 finish. Was hearing rumors of Ward Burton in that ride, but that has quieted down lately. Chrud, add another one to your list...how about Scott Wimmer? A couple more years in the Busch Series would have been a good idea. He's got great potential, definately better than Leffler or Vickers, but he's in a terrible ride. The whole 22 team isn't good at all. Put Wimmer with a better team and he'd be very good. Don't say I've got blinders on either. How can I say Wimmer should be in Cup? I said Vickers and Leffler shouldn't be in Cup, yet Vickers stats are better and Leffler's are slightly less. They are with great teams. The 25 car has won before, the team owner has 5 championships. They have the organization to do it. There is NO reason Vickers shouldn't be in the top 15 in points. Gibbs, even though it is a new team, has won 2 championships. Put Wimmer in the 25 and he'd be a solid top 20 to top 15 driver each. The 22 wasn't good before Wimmer. He was great in the Busch Series. The 22 wasn't setting the Cup Series on fire with Ward driving, but the performance has definately dropped with Wimmer in the seat. I remember reading that CAT had something to do with Wimmer getting the ride, because Wimmers father is either a CAT dealer, or Owned a lot of CAT equiptment. Not 100% sure on that story. His little drunk driving episode, and then hiding from the police didn't shed the greatest light on the team or the sponsor either, and if I remember correctly, that happened before he even drove a race in that car.
