Tominator
I like mindless work. Mowing the lawn is mindless. About the only thing I think of while mowing the lawn is "keep the line straight." I've got abooot 6 or 7 hours of mindless work ahead of me tonight. I have to spread 10 cubic yards of mulch. Load the whell barrow, dump, spread, repeat. Mindless. Do you like mindless work? Newarcher
Re: Mindless Work I wish I had some mindless work going...software analysis is not mindless. I am in the middle of selling our home, I already bought the new one (closing at the end of July), packing, etc. and right now I could use some mindless work. I can't help but surf because it takes my mind off the stress going on in my life right now but I can't continue this or else I will get fired! I need a vacation! Yeah, I love mindless work. Sometimes I wish "Door Greeter" at Walmart payed more.
Chrud
Re: Mindless Work Hate it. When you do it 10 hours a day, it gets REAL old.
ThethirdI
Re: Mindless Work I'm with you Chrud. I have worked in a factory for Daimler Chrysler over 12 years now. The pay is excellent but the work is mindless. I hate even waking up in the morning. When I wake up I know that I have to go "there" again. It is the most horrible thing I have ever had to deal with in my life. Hate it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Shaun_300
Re: Mindless Work i like my work, i'm a mechanic at a GM dealership, on the lube rack for the most part right now, but i'm always busy, which makes the day go by REALLY fast! buckee
Re: Mindless Work I like mindless work too. Sometimes painting can be mindless, but not today. I had to set up a spray booth in a car-port, with gusting winds, sand both sides of 33 cupboard doors, and spray both sides with primer. The primer had to be thinned down a tab to get the right consistancy.

007hunter
Re: Mindless Work Thats what I do part time. It's something I enjoy doing and I get alot of personal satisfaction out of doing it. Palssonater
Re: Mindless Work When you have monotonous(sp?) work, there is always a danger of having an accident. I know few framers who spend a total of 1second per time on a mitre saw to cut to length, and then all of a sudden a finger is missing. Poor guys, but they all say it happened because it was something they did 1000times. I like my job because there is always something new. We are constantly maintiaining older relays and then replacing eventually. Evaluating new equipment and stuff. HOWEVER, it is awesome to go home and cut the grass in 4th gear on the tractor. Crusin along not thinking bout much, watchin the sun go down.

Turkeygirl
Re: Mindless Work I wouldn't consider mowing the yard mindles work. If you want mindless work, consider working for the custodial department at my college over the summer, 5 days a week for 8 hours a day cleaning everything from rugs to toilets to walls to the bugs out of lights! If that isn't mindless, I don't know what is,lol!
