Need some advice

I am looking at getting a new bow, and have decided on he make and model. my dilemma here is, one shop in town will have to special order one in as my draw length is only 27". They showed me a 28" bow yesterday, and told me if I went to a shorter release, I would be able to shoot it, which I did while at the store. Problem here is I really don't like the way I would have to pull with my finger to activate the trigger. Shop #2 has the bow in my draw length on hand, but it may cost me a little more. If I did go with the 28" length, would the speed I gain warrant spending $50 bucks on a new release? Also, I had this shop work up the price for bow, release, and a new peep, since I g=have everything else, they were $70 bucks more than what me and my wife figured, and I can't figure out where that came from. I know shop #2 will set up my new bow at no charge, not sure about shop #1. So what do I do??

I say get the cheapest that way you'll have an excuse at the Okie showdown....grin.gif

Go with what you know gator. If you shoot good with a 27 shoot a 27.

You mainly want this bow for hunting, so that small gain in speed wouldn't be worth it to me.

I'd order one and then wait patiently.

Re: Need some advice

I'd special order the proper draw lenth.

My string stretched out on my Mathews a few years ago and I had to shorten my release to make up for it. It's uncomfortable and changes your shooting form. Go with what is comfortable, you'll shoot better. wink.gif

Besides, when your string starts to stretch a bit with the 28"draw, you'll have to where to go as far as adjusting your release, accept to buy a new string. Go with the 27". You'll be comfortable, plus you'll have a little leeway for string stretch.
