AJ
Re: Anyone ever had any engraving done their guns ?? Nope, can't say I have. I know some guys that had their guns engraved back in the 70's. I have seen some of the stuff done today and it is nice, but it ain't cheap. Here are some offerings of Ed Delorge. The polishing and finishing is extra after the engraving. It adds up fast! too_pointer
Re: Anyone ever had any engraving done their guns ?? AJ, I was looking through a new E. Arthur Brown catalog I got, and they have some engraving/etching that seemed pretty good priced. Would you check it out and see what you think ? This would be done on a blued reciever. Arthur Brown Co. " engraving " Thanks bud. Mike
AJ
Re: Anyone ever had any engraving done their guns ?? Hey Mike, Yep, I forgot about them. They are bsically using a laser etcher for putting the designs on the action. It is definitely much cheaper than engraving. But it does not look as good. It is a cost effective way to personalize your gun. It should look ok, I would think it is similar or better than the "embellishment" Remington put on the 700 for a while. I don't know if they can be done on a round receiver though. If you are going to have your Encore done, it will be fine.
too_pointer
Re: Anyone ever had any engraving done their guns ?? Hey ! Yes, I had the Encore in mind. I think it would look pretty sharp to go with my new laminated stock. Kind of make it personal for me. It looks like $25 a side, so not bad. Somewhere I read about having a special job done on blued surfaces so it shows up. They said it could be done on barrels, so I guess surfaces don't matter too much. Thanks for checking it out for me Mike

RangerClay
Re: Anyone ever had any engraving done their guns ?? No. I was told to keep a light coat of oil on them at all times. They have been engraved for 4 years now and still no sign of rust. They get constant use through out the summer. I go to several shoots a month. too_pointer
Re: Anyone ever had any engraving done their guns ?? O.K. thanks. I got an email today from E. Arthur Brown saying after they do an etch on blued surfaces, they reblue it. Considering only $25 per scene, that a darn good deal too_
RangerClay
Re: Anyone ever had any engraving done their guns ?? WOW! $25 I would say so. I have never heard of this guy but I would get references first. Ranger
AJ
Re: Anyone ever had any engraving done their guns ?? [ QUOTE ] I have never heard of this guy but I would get references first. [/ QUOTE ] EABCO has been around a while. They do good work. Their etching is a computer generated process. Its not a person with a graver doing the job.
