Nope, can't say I have. I know some guys that had their guns engraved back in the 70's. I have seen some of the stuff done today and it is nice, but it ain't cheap. Here are some offerings of Ed Delorge. The polishing and finishing is extra after the engraving. It adds up fast!

Hey Mike,

Yep, I forgot about them. They are bsically using a laser etcher for putting the designs on the action. It is definitely much cheaper than engraving. But it does not look as good. It is a cost effective way to personalize your gun. It should look ok, I would think it is similar or better than the "embellishment" Remington put on the 700 for a while. I don't know if they can be done on a round receiver though. If you are going to have your Encore done, it will be fine.

Hey ! Yes, I had the Encore in mind. I think it would look pretty sharp to go with my new laminated stock.

Kind of make it personal for me. It looks like $25 a side, so not bad. Somewhere I read about having a special job done on blued surfaces so it shows up.

They said it could be done on barrels, so I guess surfaces don't matter too much. Thanks for checking it out for me laugh.gif

I have never heard of this guy but I would get references first.

EABCO has been around a while. They do good work. Their etching is a computer generated process. Its not a person with a graver doing the job.
