bowhunt101
Hey yall. I went to work this morning until it started raining (workin outside) and then decided to go get me some arrows. Well my pro shop had the gold tips for 87 dollars but one of my other cousins convinced me to try his pro shop and boy am I glad I did. We rode up there to Great Bridge VA and found this place back in the corner of a shopping center and it was called Great Bridge Archery Center. Not sure about the owners name but man what a guy, and what a place/shop. I was really really impressed and I will be back. This guy was the cheapest I have ever seen on arrows. I bought a dozen super carbon magnum arrows for 65 dollars and he cut them off to my size and put some good tips on them all right in front of me. After that deal was done I also bought a burlap deer target for my hay bails for about 10 dollars. Let me tell you guys all about this place though before I go any further (it was awsome and I cant help myself). He has an indoor range of about 60 yards that you can shoot all day for 5 bucks. He also has the Mathews Genesis series for teaching younger people how to shoot and all which I was very impressed with. He knew his stuff no dought and seems to me like he knows even more than the guy I used to go to before and I mean alot more. He had racks upon racks of Mathews Bows and Parker Bows which I was in aww over. He had an entire wall full of his bowhunting trophys which including huge bucks, big bears, and even mountain goats and other critters from out west and all where bow killed. He even had a few crossbows because he said Virginia is getting ready to pass a law to make them legal to hunt with. This crossbow was a Parker set at 150lbs and a triple red dot scope. He let my uncle shoot it on the range a couple of times for FREE! My uncle loved it and would of bought it if he could have afforded it and he doesnt even bowhunt. This is the best part so get ready. While I was gawking and drooling over the Mathews Bows like the awsome Switchback and Outback he came up and was like "wanna shoot one". I was like HECK YEAH! Of course it spoiled me to shoot the Mathews Switchback with 65lb pull compared to my Fred Bear with 45lb Pull but what an AWSOME BOW! That thing was smooth and noise free from start to finish. From the time you attach the release to the time you touch the trigger NO NOISE NOWHERE! With no noise reducers at all it was quiet as a mouse if not more. I was just in aww and promised him I would be back. He has his wife into hunting as well and she works as his assistance in the shop. Over all I was really really impressed with everything. I know I will be back in the near future if it is for nothing but to use his indoor archery range and get some pointers or something. We really enjoyed it and I will be back and hopefully sometime soon I will have an awsome switchback or outback like he had lol. yall takemeasy and have a good one.-tim
