wtnhunt
Re: Old tractors If you can get a manual. Some of those old tractors the wiring is so bad, you would be best off to just run all new rather than trying to fix the old.
christsavedme
Re: Old tractors If you do a search you should be able to find a manual and other things on the internet. I know that my dad does a lot of fix up jobs on old tractors and he usually gets most of his stuff of the ole internet. Wtnhunt made a good point. If you are wanting to get the guages and lights working I would also look for a wiring harness for it. All this stuff is usually pretty decent in price. Good luck and God bless! Tominator
Re: Old tractors I have a 1963 Oliver 770 that I will restore some day. There's plenty of sources on the web for restoration. Most of the ones I know deal with Olivers, but only because that's what I have. I'm sure you can find information on restoring your tractor. My favorite site is Larry Harsin's Oliver website, but he deals with Olivers almost exclusively. Another good one is "ageless Iron" www.ytmag.com The above site hosts all kinds of restoration talk, that's probably the one you want to start with. Guest cowpoke
Re: Old tractors I am an International Harvester fanatic but I repainted and did a little update work on a Oliver super 88 diesel we owned at one time. It helps when you have access to the right tools as far as sandbalsting old paint and stuff off and a good parin gun for putting the new stuff on.
