This morning on Good Morning America they were talking about Hilary Clinton and Laura Bush going head to head in 2008. I thought that was very interesting. Even though I AM a woman, I don't know how I feel about it. I would surely vote for Bush though. What do you guys think???

Am I gonna be sorry I asked? crazy.gif

Yeah you are going to be sorry grin.gif I'll give you 15 minutes to back out before I answer alright grin.gif

Certainly you know where this is going to go right?

Ya'll don't start bashing women now.

I know that the President has all sorts of advisors and military "high-ups" telling him what he should and shouldn't do. But could a woman really do the job??? I just don't know.

I can see this from both sides. Just thought I'd toss this one up in the air and let ya'll swat it around a while.

BE NICE!!????!!!!?? crazy.gif

Re: Woman as President????

The problem is, if we say no, we will be labled as woman bashers. But in since you didn't back out grin.gif....

No. I don't think women should have leadership roles like that. Matter of fact, women should be home if anything. Now, I am not bashing women alright. If you are a woman or you have a wife that works, kudos for her. I wish them the best of luck. But I know in my family and in the wifes family, the woman always stayed home with the kids. I have a hard time dealing with a woman telling me what to do or making decisions dealing with our country. Just how I am. No offense to anyone in here. If you are successful or your wife is, hey, good for you and her.

Now before anyone says anything, I know there are women who could probably do a better job then men. I know Condi is doing a great job. That's all fine and dandy but do I think they should be there...No. JMO

BTW, I am seeing who else has the nerve to give an answer like that. grin.gif Oh yeah, I would still vote if it came down to it....definatley Laura Bush over Hillary.

Re: Woman as President????

As far as staying home with the kids, I believe that is a good idea...if you can afford it. ( If your kids don't drive you insane.)

If we DID have a woman as President, she would have to be very tough.

I think it's weird that I feel the same way as you TSBH...I can't take orders from a woman either. I've had women as bosses and it drove me nuts!!!!

Nevertheless, I think it would be a very different world if a woman were President. Better or worse???

That depends on whether she's a democrat or a republican!!! grin.gifshocked.gif

Re: Woman as President????

I have worked for women supervisors and some of them have been good - some bad. I don't care who it is as long as they know what they're doing.

As for a woman president, again, if it's the right person and she knows what she's doing. I don't think Laura Bush has the training or background to be president - even with all the advisors. I don't think Hillary has the right stuff either. Besides being a lying, thieving B**** (IMO), she doesn't have the background to qualify her to be president.

Re: Woman as President????

I dislike both. Laura is the lesser of the 2 evils. I would LOVE to have Condi Rice as pres. No joke, she links civi rights to the 2nd amendment, thats big! She is a STRONG supporter of the 2nd amendment and hunter's rights.

Re: Woman as President????

No way Hillary should ever get elected, but she did somehow get the people of New York fooled into putting her in office. Dont think Laura Bush has any intentions.

On Condoleeza Rice, I would probably vote for her, and she might possibly be the first woman president.

Re: Woman as President????

LETS KILL TSBH!!!! grin.gif

Now that's out of the way, I don't think I would have any problem voting/having a woman for President, it would all depend on the person. My decision between Laura Bush should be obvious, I didn't vote for her hubby,(second time around at least) so I don't really think I would vote for her. I'm not even positive that I would vote for Hillary if she ran. At this point I don't want to think about 2008, I'm still recovering from last year. Let's not jump the gun just yet.

Re: Woman as President????

I think a lot of people are taking the idea of Laura Bush running for president way too seriously. It was something mentioned merely in jest by Lynne Cheney in an interview--she was responding to a question about Hilary Clinton running. I personally don't think that Laura Bush has any interest in being president.

Now that that's been straightened out, I would have no problem with a woman as president as long as she is on the right side of the issues. I think Condi Rice would make a great president, but can't help but wonder if she's too smart to deal with all of the pinheads in Washington.

Re: Woman as President????

I have a question for all of you who don't want a woman for President...Just what is it about a woman that makes her, in your opinion, unfit to be President? I just don't see how a woman could screw things up any more than the men already have....

I am very interested to hear the logic behind your way of thinking....

Re: Woman as President????

Die TSBH Die!!!! JK grin.gif LOL

I actually agree with TSBH shocked.gifbut for slightly different reasons. I believe in equal rights, but at the same point we have seen the fall of the family because of couples seeking after the almighty $$$$$. We neglect our children or our spouse all for a career. We look for success at work, but fail miserable in our homes. Someone needs to raise our kids properly....male or female!! Someone needs to commit to the sanctity of marriage as much as they commit to striving for a raise.

(off soapbox)

So to answer the ??? - Laura Bush would get my vote if it happened. Do I think a women could do it???? YES.

You'll feel guilty if I die in a car accident today won't you grin.gif

I guess my point is I have been forunate to have my wife stay home the last 10 years. I would much rather her raise my children then some babysitter or day care,JMO. Now obviously we have to watch our lifestye though. We realize that we can't have EVERYTHING we want like a 50"TV when that 27" does just as fine....you get what I am saying? I guess it all boils down to what a family needs to survive. Me all I need is my family, job, my truck, a house, food, clothes and my hunting gear and I am set. If I wanted more than I guess I will send her out to get a job but I don't see that happening for a LONG time. Now that the kids are in school, I want her home when they leave for school and get home for school. That's my story and I am sticking to it grin.gif

Re: Woman as President????

The issue I have with it...what if it comes down to crunch time...destroy a nation or be destroyed...will they have enough guts to crush thier opponent? I'm a little leary about that. Sometimes, some harsh talking will steer the opponent the other way. I just see a tough leader laughing in her face, if she tries to get tough with them. I just don't know... confused.gifblush.gif

In fact, a man who does not permit his wife to earn money outside the home, that could ease the physical needs of his family is "worse than a non believer".

grin.gifgrin.gifgrin.gif Does this mean I am not going where I thought I was going grin.gif Your killing me dude grin.gif Oh well, anyway....May God bless my soul crazy.gif

Hey yewbowman...do you think though you could break that down shotgun style for me. I ain't the sharpest tool in the shed and you are speaking way above my level. Did you go to college for that or are you just gifted?

You know....thanks to some of you in this political room, I thought I was doing good things but now it doesn't seem like the outlook for ol TSBH is real good grin.gif

Weird? That would be scary! Pregnant women are crazy. shocked.gif I have been around enough of them to know that the world would end if a pregnant woman were in control.

Now a non-pregnant woman? Maybe. They can be a little on the unstable side too. grin.gif
