If you already have a 2" receiver (square tube) on the truck, all you will need for the weight distribution hitch is the piece that slides into the above mentioned receiver and the accessories that go with it to actually distribute the weight.

Be sure that the hitch you have is rated for the weight you will be towing and you might want to look into getting a sway control arm (brake) also.

Something else to think about... If youre using and "Old Explorer" your using the 1/2 ton frame. It may squat from the load. I drive a 2001 F150 and I was looking into the bag system. They are pretty cheap and will allow you to haul more without really squating the truck. You can buy a nice set (firestone) for roughly $250. It just bolts between your frame and the leaf springs. You air them up when your hauling a load. Pretty neat stuff..... Theyre all over ebay.
