billkay
My son got a beagle pup for X-mas. I hate the thing! I have never seen such a hard headed dog in my life.

archerjg
Re: beagles We used to have several of them for rabbit hunting. They are nice dogs and for the most part gentle, but there is nothing that moves that they will not see and alert you to. Archerjg

Tominator
Re: beagles beagles have got to be the craziest breed of dog i've ever seen, heard or hunted with. best dog i hunted with was Hutch. always circled the rabbit unless it holed up. worst dog was Tanner. i told my buddy he should have named it "Arc" he says "why?" and i said "because that stupid thing only runs a bunny in an arc instead of a circle." he didn't like that comment too much. now Tanner was crazy. my buddy shawn had to put barbed wire on the top of Tanner's kennel because the dog would actually climb the 8ft chain link and get out. when tanner tried to get past the barbed wire, shawn put a 3" piece of galvanized plate steel around the perimeter of the fence so Tanner couldn't get his paws in the holes of the fence. one night shawn woke up to a terrible racket come to find out Tanner was chewing on the steel perimeter. that was the last straw and shawn got rid of him. firefighter
Re: beagles I got the electric fence which keeps the male in the yard,,,,, he would always climb the fence trying to chase a rabbit.... before i bought it i used to come home and he'd hear my truck and would run back home according to my family. ,,, i had to actually see him climb the fence to figure out how he was getting out...... needless to say i call him jailbird now ...
