Guest Big_Game_Hunter_64
what draw wieght should I use? broadhead?
dogdoc
Re: bow for black bear? i would think you would just use the same draw weight that you deer hunt with. I've never bear hunted before but I would think any good quality fixed broadhead would do the trick. todd
fisherguy
Re: bow for black bear? whatever setup will get you a pass through in deer is fine for bear. They have a thinner skin than deer, similar bone structure, but a lot more fat. The fat can sometimes plug a hole partially and lead to a thinner blood trail so you want and entry and exit wound. if you are shooting 50 pounds or less you may want to go with a 2 blade head for the extra penetration. JimT
Re: bow for black bear? Use your deer setup and you will be all set. I shoot 70# and use G5 Montecs for bear.
Swamphunter
Re: bow for black bear? I can't really add anything. Just being very good with your equiptment is more important thatn what it is as long as it is adequate for other big game species.
