Squirrelhunter91
Under our cabin yesterday, we found kittens. After my dad got out of the shower yesterday, he heard them meowing... So he got dressed and came outside with the spotlight. We opened up the bottom of the cabin and sure enough, 2 orange kittens with blue eyes were underneath there. They couldn't have been more than a couple days old. We took them out, wondering what to do with them, but then we soon realized that momma will be back soon to feed them. They needed milk off a nipple and we couldn't give them a bowl of milk. We left them where we found them. Hopefully when we go back up next weekend, they are still alive. RTF
Re: We found kittens! If the eyes where open, they are at least a two weeks old. Only 2 ? Dont make sense. Usually 4 to 6 kittens are born at a time.

Squirrelhunter91
Re: We found kittens! We weren't sure what to do with them. We figured that killing them would be the best thing for them instead of starving or dehyrdating to death. You know? My little brothers wouldn't let us kill them. We're not sure if they are just wild cats or possibly bobcats. RTF, they can't be, we were up there for 4 days, 3 nights last weekend and we didn't hear them. We heard them this weekend. Maybe momma was with them last weekend and they weren't crying... They were also starting to crawl out from underneath the trailer.. They would have baked in the sun. We hit 95* up there. Probably hotter in the direct sun. Atleast under the trailer, it is cool. Plus they have water because the pipes are leaking underneath. fisherguy
Re: We found kittens! Squirrel hunter, they will not have opened their eyes at only a couple days old. And what a shock, you wanted to shoot them.
Guest Andrea
Re: We found kittens! Easy solution...if you don't want them and they are still alive...take them to the animal shelter. That way you won't have to "shoot" them and they might find a home one day. My bet is that momma is no longer around. They don't leave the newborns alone for any longer than a few minutes at a time. Guest Andrea
Re: We found kittens! Well then, tie 'em in a sack and toss them in the river. J/K I'm not a cat person, but I would not let them suffer. You could feed them with an eye-dropper and that replacement milk they sell for orphaned babies til you can get them to a shelter. ??????? Squirrelhunter91
Re: We found kittens! Too late now... we are 63 miles apart and there is nothing I can do, except pray that momma comes back. I would hate to see them suffer. Guest Andrea
Re: We found kittens! Well, keep your fingers crossed. Were they alone the ENTIRE time you were there?? If so...she ain't comin' back I'm afraid.
christsavedme
Re: We found kittens! I would be willing to bet that the momma cat wasn't too far away. With them being that young. If she is a wild cat she will probably bolt at the first sound of danger. It usually doesn't bother them to leave the kittens if they feel in danger. Just what I know from previous experinces. I would just check on them again this week and take them to the local shelter!
buckee
Re: We found kittens! Well, they weren't bobcat kittens or cubs, because they don't have blue eyes. Sounds like a wild domestic cat to me. The best thing you could do for the wildlife around there would be to put them down. I know it sounds cruel, but wild domestics don't belong out in the woods. May guess is, since their eyes were opened and they are more than just a couple days old, that Mamma was in the process of moving them in there from another location or visa-versa. Cats do that sometimes, if they decide their original spot may be threatening to the little ones.
Squirrelhunter91
Re: We found kittens! OMG. That is exactly what they looked like. Same fur color and everything! Except for the eyes. The eyes were like a blue-husky kind of color. Like a snakes eyes before shedding its skin. Yes they were alone the entire time...

lil hunter
Re: We found kittens! since they already had there eyes open, n you didn't hear or see them until then, I would bet that momma cat moved them there one day. Maybe the other kittens were killed, so the mom moved the living 2. Just a guess.
Squirrelhunter91
Re: We found kittens! lil hunter, that is very possible because there is a high population of predators in the area.
NiteRunner
Re: We found kittens! We just found a litter in our barn last week, they are cute! As long as they stay outside, they're destuctive inside. If they are regular kittens they get they're eyes open a few days after being born, a week or so at the latest. My guess is they're mom moved them there, they do that until they're to big to carry.
