Gator
How many of you use some type of string silencers, and what type do you use? I did have Leeches on mine, but decided to take them off, and now my bow has alot more "twang" to it. Just curious as to what everyone else is shooting. Guest TheDeerHunter
Re: Switchback shooters I put on Limb Savers Super String Leeches and I'm here to tell you DO NOT put those on your bow! After I put those on my bow I felt a vibration all through my bow after I shot. I could feel the bow vibrating in my hand after the shot. After I took them off it was alot better. No vibration and a little less noise but still a little twang. I haven't decided on what I'm going to go with now. Maybe some regular Limb Savers String Leeches. tedicast
Re: Switchback shooters gator...have someone else shoot your bow, and stand about 5 feet away. I think you'll be very surprised at how quiet it is. My brother thought his was a little loud, untill he stood there while I was shooting it. Guest antlers21
Re: Switchback shooters I took off the leeches and it is extremely quiet without anything on the strings.
NY911Bowhunter
Re: Switchback shooters I too now think my SB is loud as a 12 gauge. I will try letting someone else shoot it. My buddy just got a Bowtech Justice VFT, wee put the Windstalker cable guard and an STS system on it last night. It is the quietest bow I have NEVER heard! I am seriously thinking about getting an STS for my Switchback!
wvbowhunter
Re: Switchback shooters I'm really considering buying a Switchback,...do they have a noise problem!?!? Need some feedback on this because I have been hearing great things about this bow.
Gator
Re: Switchback shooters wv, the string noise I hear from mine is not all that bad, I took my leeches off, and it was a little louder, but not much. A friend has one, and it is really quiet
EIGHTPOINT
Re: Switchback shooters I also have the SB and they are pretty quite bows without any string silencers. I would make sure that the arrows are properly spined for the draw weight. Everyone is tring to shoot faster with lighter arrows and in such you may be creating some noise from shooting a borderline light arrow set up. Try a heavier arrow if this is the case and the SB will still shoot plenty fast. As far as the srs system, saw one for the first time this weekend and it's a simple solution to string twang. If putting one on gives you more confidence in your bow I would say why not.
Guest deadeye270
Re: Switchback shooters I've got a SB and it has had string leaches since the day I bought it. It much quiter than my prior bow. WV - The SB is a very quite bow period. The guys who say theirs are loud also think that a mouse fart is loud. This bow is a real shooter. The reality of bow hunting is a deer will hear ANY bow at less than 20yds and try to "jump the string". As far as the STS system. I like the idea, but i don't think it changes the noise level to this bow. It does however change the sound from a higher pitch "twang" to a lower pitch "thudwang" . Gator
Re: Switchback shooters deadeye, the reason I asked this question is because mine IS louder without leaches than what it was with, and I wanted to get some opinions on whether to put them back on or not........ Guest deadeye270
Re: Switchback shooters I would leave them off then. The bow is plenty quite without having them on there. The way I see it you put them on there to make the bow quiter, if they don't work on your setup take them off and don't replace them. Happy shooting.
