TreeStandBowHunter
Well, about 4 weeks later, this is what we are looking at. Deer are finally walking around it but I can't tell if they are eating anything from it. I looked around it pretty close and couldn't find any evidence that they are actually eating from it. Not the perfect food plot but because it is a "Mini" , it's good enough

dogdoc
Re: Update on Mini-Food Plot wow--can't believe i missed this post. looks great TSBH. Nice and green. it's actually good that the deer are giving it a little break right now as it is getting established---wait until all the spring browse starts getting tough and they'll be right in it! good job on the mini-plot todd
Rhino
Re: Update on Mini-Food Plot You ought to be seeing them back there pretty soon Mike. Hope you have a good view in the morning from your breakfast table. I'll bet they enjoy your garden when it starts growing too.
TreeStandBowHunter
Re: Update on Mini-Food Plot Rhino, exactly. This is definatley the best house the Gov has given us. The next house would probably the house we had over in Okinawa. We lived on a hill over looking the East China Sea. I perfer the woods though We have a lot more to do here as well
buckincrazy
Re: Update on Mini-Food Plot Last year, I planted some Iron Clay Peas in three spots (separated from one another). In one place the deer ate the peas as soon as they came up. In another, they waited until the peas were ~ 2 feet tall. And in the last plot, they didn't eat them until they were laid over and ~ 4 feet tall. I planted them again this year. Moral: Don't get distraught, yet. The deer will find it and eat it soon enough. Tominator
Re: Update on Mini-Food Plot That's cool Mike. You allowed to hunt the property? All the gov't properties I was on hunting wasn't allowed. The best place was the base in Petaluma, CA. That place was crawling with black tails.
