Guest deldeer
i hunt i a strip of woods about 100 yards wide x 1/4 mile long that connects two big squares of woods we own one of the smaller squares, it's 50 acres.i hunt were that strip is connected to our woods. standing corn borders our woods . during archery season saw plenty of deer. opening day of m/l killed 2 deer, the next 2 days saw very few deer, couple of fawns. moving my stand is not an option at this point, how long should i give it a break before i hunt this stand again or did i ruin it before the rut kicks in ?? thinking deer may be held up in corn or just got spooked & split???...( use to hunt field edges on another property we use to lease never had this problem)....thanks. wtnhunt
Re: between hunts???? Have hunted in afternoons killed a deer drove the tractor back loaded the deer up and turned around and hunted the same stand the next morning to see the same deer that watched the deer get shot and end up right back in the same field again. Guess it all depends on how much more food sources are around and on how much other pressure they are getting.
