Handgun funnies

Recommended Posts

OK, the post about the 50 S&W got me to rememberin' back when. Several years ago I was in a gun shop (as usual) checking out some single action Rugers. In comes this huge biker looking dude ( 6' 4" 280lbs, leather, tattoos, etc) and he's looking at some automatics. He asks the owner to see a big Desert Eagle that's in the showcase. The owner takes out the pistol, locks the slide open and hands it over. Biker dude is looking it over and it's obvious he is clueless about handguns. For some reason he puts it up about 2 inches from his face barrel first and is looking down the bore. About that time he manages to trip the slide release and it slams shut. He jumps like he's been hit with a cattle prod, then stands there with this stupid look on his face. I manage to hold it in for about 3 or 4 seconds, then I finally lose it and bust out laughing. The guy slams the pistol down on the counter and walks out all in a huff. By now everyone in the whole shop is just howling with laughter. I should have asked the owner for a copy of security camera tape. Could have won a bunch of money on the "Funniest Videos" show... laugh.giflaugh.giflaugh.gif

Anyone else got one?

Re: Handgun funnies

I was watching a shooter at the range shooting a S&W 686 .357 Mag. He asked what I was shooting and I said I was shooting my S&W 29 44 Mag. He asked to shoot it and I figured what the heck, he won't hurt it. I loaded a cylinder full and handed it over. He shot it once and his eyes were very wide. After the shot, he was moving the gun through the arc it traveled during recoil. On his second shot, I look just as he squeezed the trigger and the barrel was pointed down at the ground about 8-10 yards ahead. He touched off the trigger and dirt flew everywhere. When I inquired to why he did that, he said when the gun rocked back with recoil it would be pointed at the target by time the bullet left the barrel. shocked.gif

Re: Handgun funnies

I've seen several guys have a .45 go full auto after some fine home gunsmithing. The look on their faces is priceless.

Saw a "gun expert" at a gunshow get a very nice Garand thumb while checking out a rifle. He let the bolt slam home crunching his thumb. Even with a mashed thumb he still tried to act like he meant to do it.

Re: Handgun funnies

I was out with a couple friends reciently doing some target practice, two of us shoot .44 Mag's My buddy's is a S&W stainless 6" full lug barrel, (I am not into S&W's but I believe its a 629) while I shoot a stainless Ruger Redhawk with a 7 1/2 " barrel, I had also brought my stainless Taurus Tracker .22rf with a 6 1/2" barrel for another friend to shoot since he was keenly interested but doesn't yet own a handgun. After our novice friend had shot the Taurus for a while & watched the two of us shoot our .44 Mag's he asked my friend with the S&W if he could try a shot or two with that, we felt there was no harm as he had been ok with my Taurus so my buddy loaded up his S&W for our novice buddy & instructed him on proper hold tecnique.

Well He fired one shot but missed the target low & left, what we didn't notice was that he changed his grip after the inital shot (he said after that it was to better handle the recoil) but he gripped his left hand up around the body of the revolver cylinder & squeezed one off... his scream of agony got our attention & ended our nite of plinking as he blew a chunk of meat right out of the web between his thumb & fore finger & severely burnt the palm of his hand. To his credit he did not drop the revolver simply stood there in shock looking at his left hand while the S&W remained gripped in his right hand. We felt bad for our injured buddy, but now that its over & he has healed up it kinda makes us laugh too. He has not shown any interest in comming shooting our revolvers since that incident. blush.gifcrazy.gif

That's pretty funny too! I guess the second shot was his last, huh? grin.gif I'm glad I didn't do anything like that when we were at the range. blush.gif

I have a Ruger P 97. Three different people have shot it beside me. All three have had spent shells kick straight back and hit them in the face. My buddy's dad was wearing glasses and it flew back and went between his glasses and his face leaving a slight burn mark on his nose. I think it is funny that my gun has never did this to me and I have put about 1,000 rounds through it.

But, but, but, what does a low cut blowse have to do with having a spent case stick between your glasses and her face???? tongue.gif

Re: Handgun funnies

I bought a new baby Glock in .40 S&W and took it and my itty bitty wife to the range with me. I am 6'3" 280 so the recoil to me was nothing. My wife is 5'3" 105.

I bought some of the reloads because they were cheaper than shooting my hollow-point Corbon carry loads. Since the magazines each held 9 bullets, I had two Corbons left over. I put one in the bottom of each magazine and then stacked reloads on top.

I let my wife shoot first and she went through 2 rounds okay. She stopped and mentioned how it kicked pretty hard for her but wasn't bad. She continued. I remembered the hot load in the bottom of the magazine and was just about to tap her on the shoulder when the pulled the trigger.

The gun just about flew out of her hands and then when I saw everything was all right, I just busted out laughing. She thinks, to this day, I did it on purpose!
