LifeNRA Posted June 15, 2005 Report Share Posted June 15, 2005 WHAT ATV DO YOU HAVE, WHY DO YOU LIKE IT? Been looking at a few different models. So far I like this one, Honda Foreman ES 500cc in Olive. Red wouldn't set with me because of hunting with it! The ones with the independent suspensions are nice, but man are they pricey! Price is about $6500. Not sure if I want to spend that though! My brother has a 300cc and my sister has a 350cc. I rode then over Memorial weekend and had a blast! Now I want one! LOL! You can beat up on them and they won't break. Parts and service is really easy, at least where I live. Most of the other four wheelers I see just don't look like they're meant to be driven, It seems like their plastic fenders will scratch and crack as soon as you get in the woods. I also have an old Honda 3-Wheeler, 225. I have roughly $175 in it. A guy I work with it trying to sell me a Polaris 500 Sportsman that needs a new radiator ($300) and tires for $500. I may buy it. The Rubicon's hydro tranny is simply awesome. I've used it for work, hunting, and for play. I make at least one atv riding trip per year, so I get to ride with every atv made. While I like my Rubicon, I'm not closed-minded enough to think that Honda is the only (or even the best) manufacturer out there. It seems that Arctic Cat makes the best quads for the money. More ground clearance, most of 'em have racks that can hold 200 pounds on the back(which is a LOT for a rack) If I ever buy a quad, it's gonna be a cat. Very low first gear and good ground clearance for a solid rear axel. I like the on demand 4 wheel drive. Only draw back is top cruising speed is about 35-40 mph.
