too_pointer
Sorry if this has been talked about and I missed it. I am going through my archery mag from Cabela's and seen several new items. Simms Limbsaver Ultra, I need split limbs. Alpha Shox for limbs Super String Leech. I am trying to quiet down my TenPoint x-bow. I guess the original string leeches were not lasting on the x-bow, but they say the super ones work great on x-bows. Has anyone tried any of these newer items. I am interest in trying to silence my limbs also. Thanks for opinions Mike
PAbowhunter4life
Re: Questions on Limbsavers I have never tried the Alpha Shox, but I have heard that they will slide up and down in the limbs, so that is something you need to think about. As for the Limbsaver Ultras, from what I have read there is no difference between the originals and the ultras except for the Ultras come in camo. Super String Leeches do hol dup a little better than the originals. I was popping originals off my bow all the time, but the Super Leeches I have on now seem to be a lot more durable. Remember though, a pair of Leeches weigh about 60 grains which will rob you of a few fps, but the silencing effect is worht the trade off cause you can make up the speed in other ways. too_pointer
Re: Questions on Limbsavers PA, do you think the super string leechs work good for quieting down your bow ? And have you heard the same about the limbsavers working well ? I won't miss losing a few fps, my x-bow is fairly fast ! Thanks bud Mike
PAbowhunter4life
Re: Questions on Limbsavers Yesh, the super leeches WORK. I have a Mathews and it is very quiet out of the box, but the Leeches definitely make a difference when added to the string. Mounting them as close the the cams without actual interference on the cam will cost you very little, if any speed. As for the limbsavers, they work extremely well too. If it says Simms on the package, it's gonna make your bow quieter.

AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Questions on Limbsavers I would consider NAP Thunderblox's as I have seen them listed with cross bows for sale in catalogs. They are designed for split limbs and can be tighten up with 2 set-screws to avoid them sliding. NAP is giving Sims a run for its money in the dampening business. Consider NAP (New Archery Prodcuts) I have them on my Reflex and love them, works for me!
