HarvDog
Opinions on the Parker Buck Hunter bow? Obviously from mine recent posts, I'm starting to shop for a new bow...
Bow Hunter Derek
Re: Parker Buck Hunter Harv - Do you have a good shop or two close by? I really suggest that you stop in a couple places and shoot some bows before you try the mail order package route. What you'll find is that all are pretty good bows for the money, Parker, Bear, PSE, etc. But all shoot differently in the hands of each bowhunter. You need to get your hands on the bows you're interested in and test them out. Not trying to sound discouraging, but it is the best way to get the right bow for you. Once you've shot one and like it, you can pursue the mail order route if you can't get a deal from a pro shop. Just remember that when you buy from a pro shop, your set up and often small adjustments down the road are typically free. A lot of pro shops frown on mail order and will charge to set up or adjust mail order bows. I am finding more and more that my local pro shop will meet internet or mail order pricing in most cases. Even if the item is a few extra bucks, the service is well worth the price. Especially on a bow, IMO.
HarvDog
Re: Parker Buck Hunter Thanks for the reply. I definitely plan on doing exactly what you suggest...at least as much as I can with the shops nearby. I'm kind of just price shopping right now. mainebuck
Re: Parker Buck Hunter are you moving from a Bear TRX HarvDog? I think I recall you having the same bow as me. I'm wanting to upgrade mine before next season as well. Hope you find one you like.

HarvDog
Re: Parker Buck Hunter [ QUOTE ] Just a bit of opposite opinion on parker. I had terrible luck with my Parker. It was slow, loud, and the design made for poor shooting form. I paid $300 and consider it to be the biggest waste of money I've ever spent. [/ QUOTE ] Wow! This is the first negative feedback I've heard on Parkers. What model did you have?
Guest bowhunter56
Re: Parker Buck Hunter All the parker bows are good, i have shot many of them where i work, many of my co-workers have them, they are quiet, fast. Shoot before you buy.

To be honest I am not sure but the guy behind the desk told me it was about $850 for the bow! Complete set up, sight, rest, tuning, arrows. Little more than what I wanted to spend.
