preacherman
around $450 would be a safe bet.

AJ
Re: encore rifles Buy a NEF Handi Rifle instead. Its half the price of the Encore, you can get other barrels for it much cheaper than the Encore, and in my experience, shoots as well or better. RJJ
Re: encore rifles the encore is a much better gun. you can also get more barrels from natchez at a very reasonable price.
tedicast
Re: encore rifles [ QUOTE ] the encore is a much better gun [/ QUOTE ] Not sure how true that statement is RJJ. I own an Encore myself. I have heard a lot more horror stories from Encore owners, than I have from NEF owners. It seems to take a lot less to get a NEF shooting m.o.a., than it does for some Encore barrels. I have been lucky with my Encore barrels, but have heard enough horror stories to know that there is a quality control issue at TC.
AJ
Re: encore rifles The Encore is a fancier and better looking gun that costs more. As far as shoots better, I still stand by my choice of the Handi Rifle. I own both the Encore, NEF, and H&R 1871 guns. I have not had a Handi barrel that could not average MOA groups at 100 yards. I have 5 different barrels. I have not had that luck with Encore barrels. The only one that will do that is my Virgin Valley Custom barrel. I can buy a NEF and an extra barrel for the price of a custom barrel. And you can add barrels cheaper than the Encore. [/ QUOTE ] Remember that episode of Realtree Outdoors when David Blanton was in Canada, Alberta I think, he went out the day before the hunt to sight in and it took him until dusk to get the gun sighted in, of course, that was with the .50 ML barrel wasn't it, I may be wrong. I thought about getting an Encore, but I can't justify the price, heck, a single shot rifle, at the local shop for 500.00 and change, plus, I can almost buy a whole new rifle for the price of a separate barrel, granted, not a Benelli or Sako, but still, I can't justify the price for what you get.
