I've been seeing fox's lately! lol Not in distance, right under my stand! Not one location, but two!

Do you think fox's are more allert to surroundings than deer? As in scent, noise, etc....

Re: Do you think fox\'s are.....

They are a pain in the butt if you ask me. The area I'm hunting in, is covered up with grey foxes. I had one opening day try to run me off as I was climbing the tree. If you've never heard one scream, it'll give a new meaning to hair raising experience! LOL Deer are a little cautious around fresh fox sign, but not to the extent of leaving the area.

Re: Do you think fox\'s are.....

i was just wondering if fox's smell for humans like deer do!

The one fox was trying to get the rabbits on my corn, lmao Then he came back to try for birds, lol. He didn't get nothing!

They don't bother me, i seen one last year going after a whole flock of turkeys. lol Man, there was turkey going wacko everywhere, i can still hear it. I don't think that fox got anything either, lol.

Re: Do you think fox\'s are.....

I think fox are evry bit as keen on smelling, hearing and eye-sight, as a deer is. However, when they are in hunting mode, they tend to get careless and get too wrapped up in what they're doing, much in the same way a buck does during the rut.

I used to hunt fox a lot when I was young, for the bounty on them. I enjoyed countless hours, watching them hunt mice in the tall grass., leaping and bouncing around, with no concern about their surroundings ...LOL.

Enjoy the moment, as I know you have. It's little sights like that, that make a day in the woods all worth while. smile.gifwink.gif

speaking of screaming fox, have you ever heard a mink scream .... now that, my friend, will send shivers up your spine shocked.gif
