Re: Question on Plastic Worm rigging

A lot of people rig up a carolina. I prefer just a worm and hook. I never get that fancy but I like to fish for bass toward the top. I literally just use a worm hook and the bait.

If im fishing a lake I will occasionally squeeze on a weight about a foot above the worm (so the worm floats roughly a foot above the bottom). Thats literally about all I do. In both cases I use a slow recall. It seems to work pretty well for me.

I almost only a zoom centipede with no weight, often rigged wacky style. They just about never fail to catch half a dozen usually twice that many.

Re: Question on Plastic Worm rigging

What Jeramie suggested is called split shotting. I Texas Rig mostly but if I'm fishing deep I'll Carolina Rig a worm or creature bait. That consist of a swivel with a glass bead between the weight and the swivel. I use a 2'-3' leader then rig the worm Texas style. You don't have to limit this to deep water either. You can also use a drop shot rig. Tie on you weight then appr. 8"-12" tie on a hook to your line and use a finesse worm or French Fry. Or weightless works well too especially in grass!
