dogdoc
Does anyone know if I can shoot 2 3/4" bird shot for shooting some clay pigeons? I'm wondering since it is made for 3" and 3.5" if it will have trouble ejecting the small shells. thanks todd
Guest gfourhunter
Re: 935 question.... i had one and thought i would shoot 2 3/4 out of it. everybody told me i could. ended up cracking the cone and barrel. couldnt get fixed because the owners book said NO to 2 3/4 shells. 3 and 3 1/2 only. AJ
Re: 935 question.... [ QUOTE ] ended up cracking the cone and barrel. couldnt get fixed because the owners book said NO to 2 3/4 shells. 3 and 3 1/2 only. [/ QUOTE ] Shooting 2 3/4" ammo out of the gun had nothing to do with "cracking the cone and barrel". Something is fishy because the only reason they say not to shoot the lighter ammo is for reliable cycling. If the barrel is the problem, like you said, you can get a new barrel. But, since you said it can't be fixed, I will take it off your hands. I will send $ for shipping.

RJJ
Re: 935 question.... i would stick with the 3 or 3 1/2 inch. you don't want to take a chance in messing up your gun.
AJ
Re: 935 question.... [ QUOTE ] like they said. i didnt follow the rules. [/ QUOTE ] I am curious, who said that, the gun shop or Mossberg?
carbonhunter
Re: 935 question.... I ran a few 2 3/4 inch shells through it when i shot it back in feb. it would cycle some and not others. i think it depends on how broken in the gun is, what shells you shoot, and how clean u get the gun. AJ
Re: 935 question.... [ QUOTE ] The best thing to do for any semi-auto brandnew is find the hottest load you can and run about 5 to 10 round throuh it.It we help in the long run for cycling any sized round. [/ QUOTE ] This should be within the limits of the design of the gun. There are still some target guns out there that should never be fed a magnum cartridge. It can crack the receiver. Guest benelli_man_84
Re: 935 question.... I have a 935 and I love it. I ran about 10 hot hot turkey loads through them and then oiled them down with a real light oil. that helped out a lot on it. Hope that helps out. It is a heck of a gun, by the way. Smoothest shooting shotgun I have ever shot.
Guest gobblergetter15
Re: 935 question.... I have a 935 and most of the time it will not eject the 2 3/4 inch shells. And on the subject of gfourhunters gun I agree fully with AJ. Shooting smaller shells had nothing to do with the cracking of the cone and barrel. Guest gobblergetter15
Re: 935 question.... Yep, the first shells I ran through were some 3 1/2 inch turkey loads.
