tedicast
Re: question I shoot a 50 cal. Encore with a synthetic stock. I shoot 100 grains of 777 pellets, and 295 grain powerbelts. I have found the recoil to be very manageable. I have shot in a t-shirt, with no problem whatsoever.
archerjg
Re: question With 100 grains of 777 pellets in my Black Diamond it kicks about the same as a .22 to me. Archerjg
AJ
Re: question Stick with lighter weight bullets, and use 100 gr loads. You will be ok. The 175 gr Dead Center from Precision Rifle with 100 gr charges will kill deer as dead as any other load and will kick a lot less. IMO, there is no need to shoot 300+ gr bullets for deer, although some do prefer them.
lil hunter
Re: question i'm 14 too. My .50 cal rem. shoots about like a 3" duck load. Nothing near as painful as a 12 gauge 3 1/2" turkey load. You should be able to easily handle any kick with the muzzleloader. Compared to slugguns, (i have shot 3 different ones) they are nothin. lil hunter
Re: question he may be thinkin of the old percussion muzzleloaders. Not the modern ones. I've never shot an old one, but i've heard a lot of 'em kick like a mule.

Guest longknife
Re: question my duaghter's use traditions 50cal with 75grn's of rf and 245grn sabot and there very comfortable. The best way to tell you is the way i train people young and old is to start out with 45grains of powder and work your way up untill it hurts then stop, that is your comfort level and then try diffrent bullet wieghts to better your accurcy.Trust me it works, you will see a great improvement in every aspect of you and your weapon.Hope i helped.
