Mike Dillon {FoxPro} and Byron South {coming to the call video series} joined me {Glenn Guess} on 6-24-05 to use the FX3 from FoxPro for the first time ever in the field! Considering it was the end of June, the morning was perfect. Mike having made 7 states in 5 days, still had jetlag. He was trying to get the first ever kill on the FX3 with a riffle he had never shot. Now, mind you, he was doing all of this in front of 2 guys that would never, and I mean never, rub it in if someone was to miss!! Yeah, right! We were positioned so that we were overlooking a huge valley with a small drainage area through the middle. We started out with the FX3 playing on jackrabbit for a few minutes and then switched to coyote in distress. Almost immediately we had a nice coyote coming our way! The coyote came in so hard and fast he almost blew past us. He then turned and started slowly back in the direction from which he came, stopping now and then to look for the rabbit in distress again ! Mike saw the coyote which blended pretty well, Byron made him stop and Mike missed! We tried to stop the coyote for another shot, but he wasn't about to hang around for anymore. We then picked up and moved several hundred yards calling into the same general area, just a little farther south! We set the FX 3 on rabbit in distress and within minutes we had another coyote coming hard and fast. This one came in good, stopped where he was supposed to and Mike made a perfect shot! History made! The first coyote ever killed using the new FX3 from FoxPro!

We picked up and moved over to the next hill and called into a new area, with no response. So, we moved again this time calling in to a heavily wooded creek bottom! With the FX3 again set on rabbit in distress. Within seconds another coyote was coming in fast from Mike's direction she stopped perfect at about 100 yards and Mike dropped her in her tracks! The second animal ever taken using the FX3!

We decided to move to a new piece of land several miles away. It was now in the mid 80's and the wind was blowing 15 to 25 mph. We set up over looking a huge draw and called for about 15 minutes no coyote. We moved about half a mile set up again. One came running in this time, but stayed out about 400 yards doing his best to stay to cover and get down wind of us! We did see where he went! We moved again for one last try before Mike had to head back to PA. It was getting hotter by the minute and again no coyote! It was time to call it a day, and what a day it was!

This was an awesome experience for me. I enjoyed meeting Mike and getting to be one of the first see the FX3 in action. I can't thank Mike or Byron enough for the opportunity!

The FX3 is awesome! It has the most pristine sound I have ever heard on any e-caller and performed to perfection! AWESOME!

Thanks again guys!
