CWS...Alluminum or wood?

It being College World Series time, I've heard a lot of hype about the whole alluminum bat vrs. wood bat dilemma. I think it would be beneficial for college players to begin using wood bats because many of them get drafted, but can never make it past A or AA ball because it is such an adjustment to wood from alluminum. Ive experienced this...we are playing in wood bat tournaments for my legion team for the next two weeks and let me tell you, there is a big adjustment factor everyone makes. Its a different kind of baseball. What are your thoughts?

I think if you are talented enough, you can make the switch with no problem. Sorry, have to disagree with this one. Because then the argument will be to make High School players use wooden bats because they will one day go to college and have to use them and then for little league because they are going to high school. That is just my opinion.

I see your point preacherman, but there is always a redshirt year where you could then make the adjustment.

Guess I'd side with tradition. Baseball should be played with wooden bats. How can someone claim to break any records when they are using a juiced up aluminum bat. I think it was a mistake to allow them as people are getting hurt more (Pitchers) and some things weren't meant to be changed.

Re: CWS...Alluminum or wood?

It wouldn't bother me to see all baseball and softball go to wood bats. I play softball (played baseball through high school) and the bats we have now are rediculous. I'm hitting a .44 core 525 comp. softball over 400' with a Easton Synergy +. Pitchers are getting killed out there. At some point you have to draw a line. Our fields right now with the 90 deg. heat we're having are hard as concrete. The balls coming thru the infield right now are scary. Too many people are getting hurt right now because of the technology of the bats.

Don't get me wrong... I love to blast one out of the park just like anyone but I hate to see guys getting hurt. I won't even play co-ed ball bacause I wouldn't want to cause somebody to get hurt. This is all just my opinion.
