BuckDiesel
OK I realize that the rut falls at different times around the country in my part (mid-south Va.) around mid Nov. , sometimes earlier or later. Trying to pin point it seems to be a challenge. The temps really have'nt fallen below upper 40's or 50's. Will the rut fall in that warm of temps.? or will it fall when temps drop? What other signs should I look for? Thanks BD.
bulldawg
Re: Rut question Usually, when the weather gets real warm, the bucks will do most of thier movement after dark, when it is cooler. It might delay the process a bit, if it's really warm at night too. Warm weather in this part of the country can mean a real tough time for hunting activity. MUDRUNNER
Re: Rut question I THINK WARM WEATHER MIGHT SLOW THE START OF THE RUT DOWN A LITTLE,AND MOST ACTIVITY WILL BE AFTER DARK.I THINK THE FIRST REAL COLD FRONT IN NOVEMBER REALLY KICKS THINGS IN OVERDRIVE AROUND HERE. Guest tarbaby
Re: Rut question I dont believe that warm weather does slow the rut down much.... the bucks just wait until dark to do their searchin.... but the process still goes on....just not as much evidence of it

wtnhunt
Re: Rut question Think the warmer weather can slow things down. Here in November the daytime activity is usually considerably higher when the temps are cooler.
