tallone
I got to try out my roundhouse blind yesterday morning and I'm sold! I put it out a week before opening day and let it set until yesterday, I was set up thinking the deer would be coming in from my left and of course she decided to come from the other way. I caught movement and saw her about 20 yards away looking right at me (although she couldn't see me) she was too close for me to get turned around in time, she starts walking straight towards me and all I could do is ease back against the wall. I'm sitting there listening to her get closer and then the next thing I know her nose is at the window not twelve inches from my head! I could hear her breathing! It was almost like she was looking in, she sniffed a couple of times then turned and started walking away, this gave me a chance to get my bow and draw, well the floor made a little noise as I was readjusting and drawing back and that made her turn to look back giving me a perfect quartering away shot, I released and made a great pass through. She ran about 25 yards and that was it! I'm loving my slick tricks and the blind. The only bad thing is I guess my arrow decided one deer was enough because I looked three times as long for the arrow as I did for the deer and it was nowhere to be found. Jeramie
Re: Got a nice doe and a report on the ameristep blind Congratulations man! To have one stick its nose in that close quarters means you're really taking care of your scent! Nice work and congratulations again. Guest Broncho10
Re: Got a nice doe and a report on the ameristep blind Congrats on the deer. i got an Outhouse Ameristep blind last year for Christmas and have hunted out of it a couple of times this year. There just isn't enough room for me to draw my bow in there without hitting the sides. I guess I am just going to have to use it for ML and rifle seasons. It is the blind that is relly tall, it comes to a point at the top. I would have rather gotten the wide shorter ones.
