johnf
I got my wife a Taurus 5 shot 38 with the short barrel and am thinking about getting a crimson trace lazer grip for it. She is not a very good shot and I thought that it might give her a little more confidence as well as be a bit of a deterant if she ever needs to use it. Any comments? slugshooter
Re: Crimson trace Sounds good to me, theres nothing like a red dot on someones chest to make them run away.
WNY_Whitetailer
Re: Crimson trace I agree...That red spot on someones chest might avoid lethal force. I would buy one but the darn things are so expensive...
hangunnr
Re: Crimson trace If they weren't so spendy I would like to play with a set of their grips. I would still stress the importance of aimed fire instead of relying on the laser. hangunnr
Guest Xen
Re: Crimson trace all depends, you gotta get her into a gun she is comfortable shooting, dot or no, if she flinches and doesn't feel right with the gun, she'll never hit anything. i went through the dilema of finding a gun for my wife, ended up with a styer s9. it's fairly compact and has a 10 round mag. my wife, who happens to be small and not very strong, can shoot it very well. the gun cost me 300, came with a 2nd mag also. the gun fits inside her purse, and she has worn a belt holster before and says it's very comfortable. quick summary of all my rambling... find a gun she fells comfortable with, and don't keep adding to something she doesn't really like. oh, and also, get a .22 and give her some trigger time, let her burn up 500 rounds in a weekend, put a big target about 10 to 15 feet away and make her confidence soar through the roof.
