WIGGS is a HOPEFUL (and so are we). I haven't heard from TIMBO or DAVE. For those that are thinking about it, you won't be dissapointed. It will be a great time with lots of entertainment and fun shooting. Since we will be doing it before the hunting season I will work on getting some targets set up in the woods. I may be able to get my hands on a few 3-d's that I can borrow. [/ QUOTE ]

Only problem is the 24th is the second Saturday of our Archery season in CT, and the 25th is my Anniversary. My wife gave me the ok to go, but I'm wondering if this is a test???...lol I may come back and be sleeping in the dog house. -------------------- [/ QUOTE ] Tedicast - if you are only 33 miles away from me as the Hoyt website lists - if you want, you can meet me at my house in Dutchess County and ride with me to camp. If I do go, I'm gonna have to head back on Sunday morning, so I can do the anniversary thing.
NY911Bowhunter
Re: Realtree NorthEast Smackdown! That would be perfect - by Sunday I am missing my boy anyways! My plan is to leave Friday mid morning, stop in Kingston at the above mentioned stores for food and toys, then head up in time for an evening hunt perhaps. I would probably leave Sunday morning anyway.

NY911Bowhunter
Re: Realtree NorthEast Smackdown! Last year I brought the goods for breakfast and I handled that. Friday nite we had a big dinner of food made by attendees - the best was Dave's wife's (Adkhunter and BlackEyedSusan) sweet and sour venison!!!! Saturday night we went to a local restraunt and had a blast!!! We WILL be going back there!

VTbowman
Re: Realtree NorthEast Smackdown! I know I plan to bringing my own grill and a cooler full of stuff, if your wanting food at the drop of a hat then I suggest you do some shoppin Luke. Plus you work in a grocery store so that should be easy to get. LOL I am treating it like any other camping trip I go on, except this time I get to bring my archery stuff too!! NYBUCK
Re: Realtree NorthEast Smackdown! I would suggest bringing what you would like to eat and drink. If you want to bring a dish of something that will be fine. I am sure we will have plenty of food. I have already worned Jen at the lodge that we will be there on Saturday. She said she can't wait. VTbowman
Re: Realtree NorthEast Smackdown! Will we be able to build a camp fire? Is this someones home or is it a camp ground? I normally bring a bunch of fire wood when I go camping and wondered if I need to or not? Also what about facilities? Showers, etc? Just trying to get an idea on how rustic I am gonna go. LOL
NY911Bowhunter
Re: Realtree NorthEast Smackdown! Plenty of room for a bonfire - we had one last year, big yard, not a soul within earshot!!!! There si a shower, but last year Jim bleached the crap out of the water, so no one used it! BuckNrut
Re: Realtree NorthEast Smackdown! Oh, it's rustic all right! Youker Rd is more like an ATV path. The accomodations were quite satisfactory. You can just be yourself at Jim's.

NYBUCK
Re: Realtree NorthEast Smackdown! Ok enough with the water jokes already. Man just let it go. The water will be fine this year, I promise not to touch it. LOL. There is a shower and also a stream. There is a huge yard and a good sized field across the road. Do not worry about wood, we have plenty and yes we will have a nice fire. This is getting pretty exciting and I can't wait to see evryone. VTbowman
Re: Realtree NorthEast Smackdown! May be a dumb-stupid-rediculous question. But... Can we drink beer on this property? (Believe it or not I have been in areas where its frowned upon...)
BuckNrut
Re: Realtree NorthEast Smackdown! Yes, you can drink beer but, no hunting that day afterwards. I would say BYOB on this trip.
NYBUCK
Re: Realtree NorthEast Smackdown! Yes absolutely. Not a dumb question at all. Last year we had some that did and some that didn't. No problem either way. Just BYOB kike Art said. I do require that no hunting after consuming. With this group I know that this would never be an issue. And also remember, because we are having it on the 23-25 of September, the only thing that you will be able to hunt is black bear. There is not alot around, but they are around. In fact one was spotted by Wiggs on a morning hunt not far from the camp. I will have the trail cameras out in a couple weeks.
VTbowman
Re: Realtree NorthEast Smackdown! I do not plan to hunt. I am there for the camping, bow shooting, and forum memeber get together. I normally drink beer towards the evenings but have been known to have a few during the afternoon. I will not shoot when or after I drink. Personal preference there. Just plain start not to anyways. Thanks guys.
