py_archer
I've got an old gun kill that is starting to lose it's color. Is there anything I could do that would keep it from deteriorating into dust? Thanks
RTF
Re: Antler Turning White Was it outside on ground ? Min wax stain works good to put some color back in.
Saskbuck40
Re: Antler Turning White Use a gel wood stain, and keep them out of the sun.
HarvDog
Re: Antler Turning White I've heard that you can use a stain on them. Pretty cool idea actually.
py_archer
Re: Antler Turning White [ QUOTE ] Was it outside on the ground? [/ QUOTE ] Only after I shot him with a Franchi spas-12 as he was trying to get away, it has been hanging on my wall for 16 years. It is not near a heat duct or window although it is up near the ceiling where it is warmer. My neighbor has a wide rack that is thirty years old and it is begining to turn bone white, and I don't want mine to end up like that. Is there anything I could do to preserve them?
