tedicast
Re: wood or composite I personally think that wood is more aesthetically pleasing, but a composite stock is more functional. I have been leaning toward composites on all my purchases lately.
AJ
Re: wood or composite They both have their good points and bad points. As far as solid walnut stocks, they are definately affected by weather. Synthetic stocks are sometimes way too flimsy. This is the case when they are injection molded. Thats junk to me. Also bedding material does not stick to them well due to the mold release. Fiberglass lay up stocks are outstanding. They are also the lightest weight. Laminated wood stocks are very stable but are heavy. If weight is not a concern, they are a good way to go. They are more astetically pleasing than synthetic.
too_pointer
Re: wood or composite I have both, for my shotguns I prefer good syn. stocks, took a syn. off my Encore and replaced it with a Boyd's laminated. It is a little heavier, but I like it much better than the syn. too_ [image][/image]
