View of where our ladder stand will be next weekend.

We will be entering the stand from the rear where if there are deer on the plot they won't be able to see us getting in our stand(hopefully crazy.gif) It will be in the only spot where you can see the big redoak tree trunk. The stand will be cover with camo burlap.

We'll be using it for both. When I'm by myself I will be hunting in stands that are way back in the woods. This is the only stand we have right now that we both can sit in. I will only be in this stand when cole is with me.

Last year we had it in a different tree and the deer busted us when they came in on opening day, they were coming in straight at us and seen us before we seen them. This year they will be entering the plot from the sides and we also will have much more cover getting in and out.

good looking spot!!!!.......one thing i would do (if you'll allow me to make a suggestion grin.gif) cut a 6" diameter tree with a nice licking branch about 5' off the ground......dig a hole (post hole digger) about 2'-3' deep.....drop that sucker in, and position the licking branch for a broadside shot from about 20yds. then make a huge mock scrape under that thing laugh.gif......worked to perfection for me last year grin.gif (btw.....put it right out in the plot wink.gif)

No need. Just to the right of the treestand is a small oak tre that had three scrapes(big ones) under it and two big trees about 8 inches in diameter, about 20 feet from the scrapes a big buck was tearing them up. All the low hangin branches were chewed up. I even got to see a forked horn pee in the scrape and chew on a branch. All the big bucks were coming through at night or when I wasn't there.not going to hunt it as hard as I did last season until the rut kicks in good.

I have pics of some dandies but they were all at night.

I have better pic of this 8 point but haven't loaded it yet. (all pics are from last year)

This I have a pic of him in velvet, he is a really wide 7 point.

Also have this non-typical that should be a good buck this year.

Both the 11 point and the seven were together last year in August right before they shed thier velvet.

Not monsters but they will all be shooters in my book!!!
