snapper
Looking to buy a pool table and don't want a junk one. However, other than looks, how is anyone to know the quality? I'm looking at two different brands right now...Olhausen (which I heard of and know it to be a good table) and a Murrey (which I never heard of). Both tables have the same warranties. Both tables use the same size slate etc...both are good looking but the Olhausen is about $1000 more than the Murrey and don't know if saving that $1000 would be a deal later in life? Anyone out there have any opinions about pool tables?
tedicast
Re: Pool table questions When I was younger my parents bought us a pool table for Christmas one year. It was an Oldhausen table. It is an awesome table, and wouldn't hesitate to reccomend that brand. The only thing I could ever really complain about is the table had a ball return, and their ball return system was kinda cheaply made. It never failed that balls got hung up half wat through. If I was gonna buy another I would just got the drop pockets, instead of the ball return. It was an 8 foot table and it got a ton of use. It is still sitting in their basement. Wish I had room for it.
snapper
Re: Pool table questions Thanks John, thats the kind of feed back I'm looking for. The tables I'm looking at don't have a ball return...just the drop pockets. Anyone have any experience with Murrey tables?
MCH
Re: Pool table questions Ball return is overrated in my book. I've shot both for years. I'm not sure on today's prices but there's no way I would pay a lot more for ball return.
