what kind of calls do ya"ll prefer if any during bow season, and do you think it spook's the bucks?I personally prefer the Tru talker to try and get the younger bucks to come in because that sometimes will get the bigger bucks to follow. But i would like your ideas. grin.gif

Re: Deer Calls

I have had zero success calling cold.

I have tried several calls too but prefer the Primos calls over all the rest.

Calling only works for me when I can see a deer and then only about 1/2 the time.

I use The Can and a hands free 5 in 1 grunt call both by Primos.

Re: Deer Calls

I use the Hally Caller Pied Piper (same call as Lohman's Touch Tone). I will combine that with a rattle bag at times. I have had zero success with can calls.

I call "blind" all the time. In the areas where I hunt, there are always nearby places a deer could be passing unseen, but is still well within earshot of a soft grunt or bleat. I've never scared a deer off by calling softly. And I've never had one come to a call that wasn't made. I'll usually call softly every 10 - 15 minutes at the appropriated times during the season.

Re: Deer Calls

I use the ez grunter and the Can. I do rattle once in a while but have had little success in recent years so that is my least used method.

Re: Deer Calls

Well, for these blacktails I hunt, I'm still in love with my "WoodsWise Minitube" (doe and buck call in one) and my "WoodsWise Friction tube" for communication doe and buck grunts.

I own a pretty good assortment of calls and find the WoodsWise calls to work the best on these blacktails wink.gif
