Guest antlers21
Re: Simms S-Coil stabalizer I put one on my switchback last week and so far I cant tell any difference than the truglo one I had. Maybe different setups it will make bigger differences but it is a good stabilizer.
Guest tarbaby
Re: Simms S-Coil stabalizer I just put one on my Bear Code and I think it made a little difference in noise and vibration. Could be all in my head though
Guest tyshe17
Re: Simms S-Coil stabalizer I havent shot the s-coil yet (we are unable to keep them in at BPS) but yesterday I did swap off between my shockblocker ($22) and a donker (about $70). I could tell a small difference in 2 areas 1 the donker was a bit longer and more front heavy and balanced out on the bow better, and second of all, the donker seemed to make the bow roll foward less. However, neither of these differences are worth an additional 40-50 dollars and my guess is it will be the same with most stabilizers that size. For my money, the 7 inch shockblocker is the ticket. cjsportsman
Re: Simms S-Coil stabalizer I put one on my Vtec. That bow is already quiet, and I haven't tried any others on that bow
tedicast
Re: Simms S-Coil stabalizer I just bought an S-coil off of Ebay. Should have it in the next day or 2. For the price I figured it couldn't hurt to give it a try.
tedicast
Re: Simms S-Coil stabalizer I got my S-Coil last night, and put it on my Outback. Shot it a few times in my basement.I had a Doinker 4" Shorty Hunter on before the S-Coil. The little extra length, and the larger diameter than the Doinker definately changed the way the bow feels. I'm gonna give it a try shooting outside, but I think I'm gonna stick with my Doinker
Tony
Re: Simms S-Coil stabalizer the length and type of stabilizer you shoot on your bow will make a huge differance in how it feels and how it holds.. the only way to find the right one is by trying a lot of differant ones.. i prefer a Bomar 00 , 11 inch hydraulic stabilizer .. its not the most popular but it works very well for me... tedicast
Re: Simms S-Coil stabalizer I have been shooting my bow with the S-Coil more. It still does't feel as good in my hand, but I seem a little steadier at full draw. Not sure if it is all in my head, or if the stablizer is making me steadier. AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Simms S-Coil stabalizer I seen them at Gander Mountain yesteday, $14.99 just like Bass Pro. Cabela's wants $19.99 and I see its now part of their bow packages. I may get one and try it on my Refex, looks sweet and at that price it seems like a great deal! MCH
Re: Simms S-Coil stabalizer Another plus for the S-coil is the bumpability factor. There's not many stabilizers out there that you can bump against your stand and still get a shot on your deer.
AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Simms S-Coil stabalizer I didn't think of that MCH, your right, sometimes its the little things and some of those stabilizers out there could cost a hunter the buck of their lifetime!! It balances the bow diferently than the 4" doinker did, and it took me a little to get used to. You can't go wrong for the price.
