Re: Albinos and Piebald

Twenty years ago I shot a 9pt. that had alot of white on the hindquarters. The guy that owned the land asked us if we shot patches.Thinking he was talking about a cat we said no,we don't shoot cats. grin.gif He said no,he was talking about the deer he watched all summer.

Since then I only saw one other piebald deer 3 yrs. ago while bowhunting. Then in the last 2 years I've killed 2 piebalds, one with the bow and one with the rifle.

In the off season in last year 2 years I've seen alot of other piebalds too.My brother and I even saw one in WV during last hunting season on the farm next to the one we were hunting.

I knocked down a albino pheasant one year, but we never found the bird til the following year when I found a wing from the bird. frown.gif And while trapping one year in my younger days I trapped an all white coon.I didn't know any better and ripped the hide trying to skin it out.

The hide was soft more like a rabbit skin.

Re: Albinos and Piebald

I've seen only one piebald in all my years of hunting. A friend of mine killed a white doe about 12 years ago and did a half mount. 3 years ago the same guy killed a piebald 7 point. They are legal to kill here and in Louisiana. I know for some strange reason some states protect them.
