Ummmmm....don't know about blow-up boats, except that you can poke holes in them. grin.gif

And you can get real light-headed from blowing them up. grin.gif

LOL grin.gif Pretty funny there huntin_girl.

I would prefer inflatable primarily due to storage...I guess. confused.gif

Well, those jon boats are pretty narrow. And when you're done, you can flip them over and put them on top of your shed or hide it behind it. What's your storage situation anyway??

Fishing, hooks, and inflatable boats just don't mix.

Good point! That would be a major concern. I would look for the john boat too. You can usually pic one up cheap. Unless you live in an appartment storage shouldnt be a huge deal. We use to carry dad's to that water. If you have room you can even flip one upside down on a couple of saw horses.

Re: Inflator Boats

Yeah...get a little 12 footer. Easy to hide. And one day....move out to the country!!!!!! grin.gif

With the inflatable...you'll get crowded real quick . Then the ice chest will keep tipping over, the tackle box will keep spilling, you have to PADDLE, then where are you gonna put all your rods and reels??? Oh yeah and no live well. Need I go on?? grin.gif

If all you want is something to FLOAT on, go for it. If you want to FISH...I'd start measuring for the jon boat. cool.gif

Our Home Owner's Association is tough so I'm not sure they would like a boat lying around somewhere. I might be able to hoist it up in the garage.

There are ways around that! I bet you could dress it up or find a good hiding spot for a flat bottom. The garage isnt a bad idea either. They make a pulley system to hoist up a bicycle, I bet it would work for a boat too.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I already have the pulley system for a couple of my bikes.

Re: Inflator Boats

I have 2 jon boats. The first one I bought off a farmer for 150 bucks the rivets were coming loose in the bottom so I reriveted it and bondo over the rivets. Then I bought a 1963 Lonestar V- Bottom off an old man around here with a trailer for $400. I put a 9.8 Merc., 40 Lb thrust trolling motor, Garmin fishfinder 80, and wired lights. That thing is a fishing machine now. Not fast but man it is easy to load unload with float in 6 inches of water and take on 3 feet waves(I know from Experience... long story). Anyway get a jon boat. just do some looking around and you can find a cheap one somewhere.
