.243 Is Pretty good ground hog gun

Just got the .243 barrel for the encore and Love it. took 2 ground hogs after 3 shots to sight it in... I was thinking about getting the 22-250 but after getting this I think it would be a waste for the average groundhog slayer. Ohh and we put the Weaver 4-16x scope and I also love that set-up. First weaver I have used and it is Crystal clear.

Yep, the .24 caliber is a great varmint wacker. Its my choice for long range shooting for varmints. The only benefits the .22 caliber has is it does not heat up as fast due to less powder and the barrel walls will be slightly thicker since the bore is smaller. The .243 Win can shoot as fast with light bullets but handles bigger bullets better than the .22-250.
