HarvDog
I just received this via email and thought it was good enough to share... Only Perfect Practice Makes Perfect Jackie Bushman likes to say that "Practice doesn't make perfect; perfect practice makes perfect." Those are good words to keep in mind as hunters gear up for the fall seasons. If you're a bowhunter and haven't been shooting for several months, your muscles will be out of shape. Despite temptation, do NOT attempt to get back in shape by shooting arrow after arrow in these first few practice sessions. If you shoot too much you will get tired and do things you would not normally do while shooting -- things you wouldn't want to do when staring down the arrow at a monster buck. To keep these bad habits from creeping in to your form, take as few as five or six shots to start and slowly build your way up. It's more important to keep your good form and concentration than it is to rush your muscles back into shape.

archerjg
Re: Good and timely tip I made that mistake one time and paid for it. I now shoot year round I don't go more than two weeks without practice. Good tip though. Archerjg
tedicast
Re: Good and timely tip The easy solution to that problem is too shoot a couple times a week all year long. Can't help but to make you a better ,more confident shooter
VTbowman
Re: Good and timely tip I made the mistake of over practicing earlier this spring with a high poundage long bow. I shot several dozen rounds of 9 arrows in a 3 day period and felt like I was hit by a truck come day 4... Then for 3 weeks I had issue with by bow hand being all cramped everytime I tried to shoot more then 4 arrows in a row. I know better then to do this since I normally will walk away from my bow if I get any type of fatique since it effects my accuracy. But sine I sold my compound and started trad only I felt I needed to step up my game to get my accuracy up shooting instinctively. Bad idea. I ended up looseing 3 weeks of good shooting over 3 days of over shooting.
