There is no place in the bible that condems slavery. Case in point. Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers. The story points out that his masters were blessed because Joseph followed God. Joseph was eventually given a position of power only under the king because he followed God. No one was ever punished for owning him, but make no mistake here, he was a slave. Abolishing slavery was man's decision. It was a good decision, but it was man's.
