WGumz
What do you all think about this bushnell sharpshooter 3x9x32 scope for my savage .17 hmr? I am looking for a reasonable scope and don't want to dump much money on one. I just got an email from natchez shooters supply and saw this one on clearance. I won't be shooting much past 100 yds, maybe. Any suggestions? Thanks, Wade SCOPE SHARPSHOOTER 3-9X32 MATTE Product Number: BH763933C Product Title: SCP 3-9X32 SHARPSHOOTER MATTE Item Price: $26.77 $19.95 Availability: In Stock Shipping Weight: 1.37 lbs. lil hunter
Re: What do you think about this scope?? a $30 or less scope can't possibly be that great. I think you'd be a lot better off with somethin that costs a little more. At least $60-70. You definetly get what you pay for in scopes. JimT
Re: What do you think about this scope?? If your just going to plink with it, then it will be fine. If your going to hunt I would buy better for sure.
Guest ronin
Re: What do you think about this scope?? If your buying in that range, the BSA sweet 17 might be a better bet. It was made for the 17 and works great for the price.
WGumz
Re: What do you think about this scope?? Thanks, that is what I thought. I know you get what you pay for. Ronin, I was looking at that BSA Sweet 17 last night. You have one? I don't know much about BSA, but it is designed for the .17. Thanks guys for the info. too_pointer
Re: What do you think about this scope?? Wade, don't go too cheap, you will not be happy. The scope is an important as the gun LOL. too_
PAbowhunter4life
Re: What do you think about this scope?? The shooter makes the scope, the scope doesn't make the shooter. Buy what you can afford and go shoot it. The recoil from a .17 isn't going to have any effect on the scope you decide to mount. I don't believe you need a $1200 Swarovski to make you a good shot. My reasoning? I know guys that shoot cheap Tascos and Simmons scopes that could smoke people shooting Leupolds, Nikons & Swarovskis all day. 7th
Re: What do you think about this scope?? I have to go with PA, in the last 35+ years I have seen all scopes go bad. Heck my cusin got a string of Leupolds that he could not get sighted in on his .300 Win. Mag. Rem. Sendero. With in a 6 week time he had the one he got from the store and 3 more sent to him from Leupold blow up before he got the last one to work. I have Simmons on all the guns that I have got the scope for, on my Mags I have a 6X20X50 and the 7mm Rem. Mag has over 4000, the 300 Win Mag has about 4400 and the 300 WSM has 504 under with not one hitch. Best Group was a 3 shot from the 7mm 100 yds that you could just see ware 1 round cut high and the 3rd low right and did not add more then about .08" to the first hole. If the Army would let me, I would take the Leupold off my M-24 and put one of my Simmons on it. Frank.
spyderpancake
Re: What do you think about this scope?? You will be severely limiting your .17 with a cheap scope. I would look into the BSA Sweet 17. I have not used one but have heard that they are decent. I have a Weaver KT-15 straight 15x AO on my marlin .17hmr, and it makes a world of difference. Don't limit your rifle with a cheap scope.
GWSmith
Re: What do you think about this scope?? I'm sure you know that you get what you pay for. I recently noticed the difference when buying a scope for a new rifle...CLARITY!!!! Looked at a couple of cheaper scopes first...seemed OK(usually what i had bought in the past). then picked up a Nikon Prostaff and it seemed like the difference in regular and HD TV
LifeNRA
Re: What do you think about this scope?? I have Bushnell's, but I love my Nikon! The clarity is what I am looking for! But then, I won't pay $1200 for a Ziess either! Get the best you can afford and learn to shoot it!
