Well we were going to try to do the same this year, but we ran into some unexpected money problems and now just don't know that we are going to be able to go. This is about to kill my wife. She always looks forward to the trip as she knows that one season hits I am not around that much. Anyways I was just wondering if any of you knew of a decently cheap vacation. We have searched and just can't come up with anything. I told her we would just go camping for a couple of days somewhere and she is ok with that as a last minute plan. One of the best vacations you will ever remember is being free from overwhelming bills. Under no circumstances should anyone vacation on credit. We were going this year, had plenty of $ for a fun time ( at least 4 or 5 ) days worth, and then BAM. I had to replace the engine in my truck. Anyway, no family vacation again and I am in the doghouse because I will not do it on credit. Maybe next year. If not, stay home and explore the area around your home. Day trips are pretty cheap if you bring a lunch and you might be surprised at all the things around you that you haven't seen. Do you have any family members who own a summer cottage and would sympathize with your situation? Build a deck or something in exchange? North Central Arkansas for a weekend getaway, or better yet midweek...go trout fishing! 3. Go camp at LBL and tie me a big buck to a tree for the bow opener! 4. Grand Ol Opry! 5. Try to get a guided fishing trip on the big muddy with that James Patterson guy for the BIG cats. 6. Do a three day Vicksburg, MS antebellum tour.
