Guest CLB
I noticed the draw results were out on Sask Environments webpage. Anybody else check out the results yet? I got drawn for evrything I applied for and in my first choice zones. Mule Deer Zone 9 antlerless mule deer zone 9 and Antelope zone 8. The only big problem is I will hardly have anytime to hunt due to work. CLB

Guest BeerSlayer1
Re: Sask Draw Results It's lookin pretty sweet for me this year. I was drawn for Zone 9 antlerless mule deer again, so I'll be hunting my usual honey hole with all of my kids in tow. Hopefully the weather will be as nice this year as it was for last year's hunt. No need for 3 feet of snow like in 2003. I picked up a moose tag for 40/42 (Barrier River valley) and this zone (along with Cypress Hills) always has the highest success rate. I think it was something like 83% in 2003. Not sure what it was for 2004. Since my wife's grandma and two of her uncles live in this area, I should be able to get a good head start on finding some good spots to hunt. The odds were pretty long against getting a tag for this zone (about 75/750 in Super A) so I want to make the most of it. To make things even better (or worse) I got drawn for elk in 40/48/56/57. I'm not sure how this will work out time wise, but being that I'm already hunting moose in 40, and I have a cabin in 48, and one of the guys I went to school with is a C.O. for these zones, and my home town is also in one of these zones, I should be able to get some leads on where the tan llamas are. I didn't get drawn for regular mule deer or antelope (I was drawn in 2003 for both) and wasn't expecting to, but I'm still planning on winning that centennial hunt draw! lol CLB What pool were you in to get drawn for m.d. in zone 9? sureshot
Re: Sask Draw Results was a awsoem year for me to, got mule deer with the daughter in zone 1 was in a pool, got anterless with the daughter in zone 1 was in c pool, nice thing is I ahve sheds from at least 3 -180 plus and one from over 200 and know of a few bigger ones, seen 1 tonight, will try to get a pic developed tomorrow, shoudl eb a great time to get a monster, also got drawn for anterless elk in my backyard, zone 1 been watchign these elk for 15 years hoping to get a bull tag but they only had 25 last year and I missed out and this year had 50 cows so i decided I better put in and get the freezer full and I got drawn! I am super exited about the elk tag so close to home, can prob head out before work to get one lol!! went otu tonight and seen about 50 in 2 hours!!I just wish it was a bull tag but I was the one who told the warden to get cow tags instead of bull if they want to controal the population,I would rather have one in the freezer instead of the depridition tags they were talking!! Cam send me a map of the shoot please, we are leavign right at 5.30 from work and drivign right out to set up friday night , wife and kids and all, buddy and wife and daughter are comign to, lookign foreward to having a bud and elk steak with you sat night hopefully!![i will supply the elk and bud also lol]

Guest CLB
Re: Sask Draw Results Beerslayer I was in A pool and zone 9 was my first choice, so there could not have been very many in super A. This will be my first year hunting zone 9 for muleys. Had to find a new area now that 14 has been totally ruined. I know zone 9 quite well as I worked out there in the oilfield for 5 years. I know the eastern half of the zone better than the western. Sureshot I will get the map out this week. How was your holiday? CLB
Guest BeerSlayer1
Re: Sask Draw Results Thanks Cam, I was just curious. I was in Super A when we were drawn for zone 9 in 2003, but I know there were a fair number drawn out of A. When you spread 100 hunters over a zone as big as 9, the pressure is usually pretty low and that's something I enjoy. Being close to your home I'm sure you'll be able to find a nice one. Good Luck! I'm sure you already know this, but I see in 2004 they gave out 102 tags, 40 came out of Super A and 62 out of A. There were 118 applicants in A pool, so the chances were about 50/50 for getting drawn out of A pool. I'm a nut for stats, so I always love to figure out the chances. With all of the free tags being given out I have to assume that alot of people feel it's useless to buy one. Maybe the $4 "tax" has some people ticked off as well. SaskMan
Re: Sask Draw Results Like every year, I didn't apply. Being a teacher is nice when it comes to holidays but unfortuntely for me I cannot pick my days off. **** job keeps me from hunting way less than I'd like. Congrats to all of you that got drawn.
