sureshot Posted July 12, 2005 Report Share Posted July 12, 2005 sorry about the quality of it, I had it on vidio and took pic with a digital from the tv,gives a idea of the buck! he was spotted 3 yearsd ago and was a big wide deer but lacked mass,I passed him up with ml ,I say he woudlld of been in the high 150-low 160,s now he is lookign good,I know its the same deer becouse of the long brows and width,I am hoping he grows the v's he had a younger deer, he is lookign to be a shooter, I was lucky enough to draw a tag in the area I seen him for rifle so I will have 3 chances to get nim bow muzzle loader and rifle!If he grows the v's I expect he had a younger deer he will be a 200" deer! I took soem pics with the reg camera so they shoudl look good when i get them developed, it will show him a bit better! I would imagine he should still carry all the antler characteristics he had as a younger buck just like those long brow tines he still has. sureshot Posted July 12, 2005 Author Report Share Posted July 12, 2005 Re: shooter buck?? sorry guys, its a mule, his brows are huge for a mule deer, deer seem to grow the brows first and beams then the tines from there,his brows are 7-8" long on this mule,his g3 are allready 12" or so and v's are abotu 8" if he grows right he should get about 18" g2's and 14-18"V's,I sure hope he can finish growing,he has potential to be a dream buck,also he is in the area I know every spot better than my backyard! [/ QUOTE ] Any chance it's a cross bred hybrid Bret? Like I said, the body looks like muley, but the antlers, especially brows, look like whitetail. Picture's too fuzzy to really tell a difference. sureshot Posted July 13, 2005 Author Report Share Posted July 13, 2005 Re: shooter buck?? no he is deffinatly mule,I have about 10 minutes of him on vidio I have been watching all day lol, I first seen him from a trail and that is wereI took the vidio I took the pic off runnign over a hill abotu 350 yards away, I knew were he was headign so drove around about 15 minutes to coem in from the south and walked over a hill and took about 9 more minutes of him feedign and checking for me coming behind him lol, he has the best brows I have ever seen on a mule but has the nice forks and really long beams that curl,he has the typ huge mule frame,bonus is he will get about 15 inches more on the score by the brows, trust me on this boy he is going to have my interest big time till I see if he fills out, right now if he does not grow a bit he will score over 160" I expect at least 190 hopefully the magic 200" typ!!I will be gettign more pics of him and gettign a few developed from the film, not sure how they will turn out couse he was abotu 100 yards away when I took them,I knwo he will stick in the area untill harvest which is usually in sept so i will get a good crack in bow season, then once bird opens he will be scared into a game preserve a few miles away but will be out again once the rut starts, he is in my terrotory now,just hope he fills out to what i expect him to!!heading out now again to see what i can see whil pickin berries nearby!!
