Guest HANKFAN
I am looking into purchasing a new digital trail camera and have been looking at the new Cuddeback 3.0. Through my archery shop I can get them for $280.00. I know they have made some improvements over the 1.3 model and I was wondering if anyone has used the new 3.0 model and if so what did you like or dislike about it? Also do you have any pics that you could post?

Bond
Re: Anyone Using The New Digital Cuddeback 3.0 Yet What I don't like about the Cuddeback is the flash is so inconsistent. Some pictures will have a nice flash and they'll use that for advertising, but then the rest of the pictures will be like those - really dark with lines going through them. Also, I don't think 3mp will give you better quality because the lens the cuddeback uses takes 4-5 seconds to warm up for it to take a good quality picture. The cuddeback forces the picture to be taken in less than a second, so it's not warmed up or ready to take a picture, that's why you'll get lines in the pictures and grainy pictures. And they use a plastic lens inside the camera, you can't take good pictures through plastic. Just my .02, hope this helps.
Guest HANKFAN
Re: Anyone Using The New Digital Cuddeback 3.0 Yet KTMMIKE- Do you know if that picutre of the Cuddeback was taken with the 1.3mp or the 3.0mp version?
spectr17
Re: Anyone Using The New Digital Cuddeback 3.0 Yet Here's the info I posted on the flash test. Comparison test showing pics taken with four brands of digital game cameras: Cuddeback's New 3Mp Model Moultrie's 1.3mp Model Stealth's 2.1 Mp Model Leaf River's 4 Mp DC-2BU Test Conditions: Deer heads were mounted on three posts located at 30', 40' and 50' from the post on which the cameras were mounted. Each camera was mounted to the same post at the same distance at the same height. No picture is edited or enhanced. All pictures taken at the same location on the same night under the same conditions. I'll try and get a trigger test done here in the next month. How fast a cam can take a pic and then another pic from when it first detects an animal. I'd also like to ask that if you want to post my work or pics on the Internet you please ask me first. It's common courtesy and it avoids the confusion like above when only part of the work is posted and that generates questions and confusion. KTMMIKE
Re: Anyone Using The New Digital Cuddeback 3.0 Yet Jesse, The flash test I posted came from Leaf River. I had no idea you were involved. I thought they performed the test. Interesting. I wasn't confused by the test. Seems pretty simple. I was told they used all the new, latest models in the test. spectr17
Re: Anyone Using The New Digital Cuddeback 3.0 Yet My error KTMMike, I wrongly assumed the post was borrowed from our game cam forum. My point was to post the data with the pics so there was no confusion on what cameras were used and the test conditions.
