Chrud
Here is Ford's 2006 car in NASCAR, the Fusion. I'm having a hard time holding back the laughter! Obviously they've learned NOTHING from Chevy's dominance over the last few years. You'd think they would have a similar front end. Dodge copied it. It hasn't been a complete fix yet, but it is helping. I think Ford will continue to have a hard time competing with Chevys.
MichiganHuntr1
Re: 2006 Ford Fusion - NASCAR Version Man, thats horrible! You wonder why they dont copy off of Chevy? They Must not have any common sense.
Chrud
Re: 2006 Ford Fusion - NASCAR Version That has to be a restrictor-plate template. Look how tall the front end is on that car!
VABuckSlayer
Re: 2006 Ford Fusion - NASCAR Version Looks can be deceiving! Ford may kick some Chevy but next year! Hope so anyway! Actually when I look at the top 10 in points ... I only see 2 Chevy's and 4 Fords. (4 Dodge's too). Looks like Chevy needs to step it up a notch! tedicast
Re: 2006 Ford Fusion - NASCAR Version I'm not sure about Chevy's domination in 2005. After 18 cup points races, Chevy has 9 wins, and Ford has 8. Thats not exactly what I call domination. I'm a fan of drivers. I don't really care what make of car they drive. It's not like the old day, when a driver drove a Ford or Chevy or Dodge, they were really driving a Ford or a Chevy or a Dodge. The only thing these care hae in common with the car they are named after, is the name., all similarities end right there.
AdvantageTimberLou
Re: 2006 Ford Fusion - NASCAR Version yeah the only thing stock on these stock cars is the roof, trunk, and hood. Those were suppose to be OEM parts. The rest is all hand fabricated by the teams to fit the templates. I am not sure of todays cars as they might be all fabricated and the stock might be gone. The biggest differences are the nose and tail end of the car. That is the only thing to deter a Ford from a Chevy from a Dodge. If you put a stock Monte Carlo next to a NASCAR Monte Carlo you will see a huge difference. The only cars similiar to the stock production cars in size is the ASA series. That was the first series to mandate headlight and taillight stickers so the fans could dictate what type of car is was. Plus on the B-pillar the word Chevy, Ford, or Pontiac was there. Not too many Dodges in that series when I followed it. So in todays world you have car manufacturers making production cars that in turn help NASCAR out, if the Fusion is a slow car with lots of drag NASCAR will make the changes to help it out, whether bigger spoiler or front air dam help as that is easier than Ford making changes in their car design. Its just a wait and see game now, I hear Dale Jarrett is going to practice in one very soon.

WOW!!! where have you been? Well anyway I think Ford will get a 3rd championship in a row this year. And for all of you that have some doubt about a new ford on the circuit...i hope u remember the last time ford introducted a new car to the cup series....because they won with it the first two years running. FORD 4 LIFE!
