Tominator
Ask Kim if she likes this one Tom. I might split them out in the fall if she likes these. And the bees say "mmmmmmmmmm, pollen!" And this bee says "must pack more pollen on legs" **I watched this bee actually fall off the flower when his legs got too packed with pollen. Never did see him fly away. Rhino
Re: Flowers Very cool pics Chris. Hope you're not allergic to bee stings. If one of those suckers packin the pollen load lands on ya he may not be able to take off again.

I don't know what kind of bees these are, but they don't sting per se. They must be drawn to blood or sweat, because they'll land on you and more or less bite you. Don't even know if they have a stinger. Got one under my shirt last week, bit or stung me twice before I could fish him out of there. Tominator
Re: Flowers [ QUOTE ] Tominator-Is that first pic of tiger lillys????? [/ QUOTE ] No, some sort of day lilly. I have a buddy that dabbles in breeding them. He could tell you the cultivar, I really don't know. I call them "The big peachy colored ones"
Squirrelhunter91
Re: Flowers Seen a thing before on the History channel about bees. Here are a few things I learned: [*]The average human body can only withstand 80 stings within a week or so, any more than 80 and you're dead. [*] The safest way to remove a bee stinger is to scrape it out with a credit card or a fingernail. [*] The best way to protect your dog or cat from bee stings is to provide some form of escape such as a doggy door or something like that into your garage or into your house. This might be enough to save your dogs life. [*] Africanized bees have been known to chase their victim over 1/2 mile from the nest. [*] Bees can only sting once, after that they are dead. Those are some things I learned, I could probably go on and on and on, but my hands are tired of typing... Nice pics by the way.
