I have found my shadow

I have several areas where I hunt, but my personal favorite has become someone elses favorite too. The past three nights I've been up in my tree, watching the bedding area across a small grass field that has been so productive in the past. Everytime I've been there the same guy comes walking across the field, way to late, and sets up on the ground right off the bedding area.

Needless to say, neither one of us have seen anything. He doesn't know I'm there (about 100 yards from him) and he doesn't know that he's spoiling his hunt as well as mine. I mean, he gets right into the bedding area, late!!!

I've even tried mixing it up, I usually hunt there in the morning, but I've started going at night and he still comes walking across the field in plain site of me and the deer. This guy has me patterned better than the deer.

Re: I have found my shadow

I had this happen to me opening week. I made a ground blind on the edge of a field at about 3pm one afternoon. At about 5pm a guy comes walking 10 feet past my ground blind, never sees me and walks through the middle of the field to the far side. He gets in his climber and only climbs about 10 ft. up a tree with no cover right on the edge of the field. Two deer come out at about 5:45 and are walking right his way browsing through the field but he can't move or he's pegged. About a half hour later he hits the cam of his bow on his stand and makes a loud "clang". The two deer spook, blow, and run off. At that point I stood up and got ready to leave. Believe it or not two bigger deer came out opposite the field from him right at dark. Could just make them out. Where he sat up he had to climb down and walk back through the field bumping those deer out in order to leave. My ground blind was setup so I could walk 10 feet behind me and I was on the railroad tracks out of the field, undetected. I went back there one time since and while that same dude didn't show up two other guys did so I've stayed away from the place. Come next week gun season will be open and most of the bowhunters will be gun hunting so I'll go back to that spot then and hopefully not get messed up like that again.
