tedicast
Re: Another \'05 Bow Rankings [ QUOTE ] Where's my AR34 [/ QUOTE ] How do you not include the Mathews Outback in that list? not saying there aren't some real good bows listed there, but the OB definately belong there too. Chrud
Re: Another \'05 Bow Rankings [ QUOTE ] Difference in the Mathews was that it was overpriced and the draw cycle was worse than the Hoyt or the Bow Tech. [/ QUOTE ] I'd like to know what that guy likes in a draw cycle. Not sure about the overpriced part. About 80% of the shops around here have Mathews, Hoyt and BowTech all at the same price. Guest Buck Magnet 007
Re: Another \'05 Bow Rankings The noise part is a shocker to me. A test was done with the top three bows using dB meters and the Switchback was actually the quietest of the three beating out the Allegiance by .1 dB's. Draw cycle is what I expected. The Hoyt doesn't have as hard of a cam producing the speed that the Allegiance does. The S-Back in third seems right to me. If the S-Back was a new bow, it is gonna have one terrible draw cycle. My buddy just got a S-Back this year and when he first got it, I drew it back and shot it a few times and thought that it was one of the worst draw cycles I had ever felt. After a few months of shooting, the bow wore in and the draw cycle is MUCH better!

Strut10
Re: Another \'05 Bow Rankings Being a Browning guy to the core..............I gotta wonder why they stacked all those other bows up against a Browning that's been out for about 3 years??????? The Mirage 1.5 is/was a great bow. But the state-of-the-art Browning is the Illusion. I think I'd put more credibility into their little list if they were comparing apples to apples. maddhunter
Re: Another \'05 Bow Rankings It's all about the $$$$$$$$$$ If it came down to it I would take any of those bows and be happy with it. Instead I opted for a Switchback!!!!!! I LOVE MY SWITCHBACK!!!!!!
VermontHunter
Re: Another \'05 Bow Rankings Like I said if they had tested the Alpine Yukon or Denali along with these bows,,,,,The rankings I'm sure would have been somewhat different......... Guest tyshe17
Re: Another \'05 Bow Rankings I am a little out of date I know, but does anyone have the head to head test from 2004. Just wondering what all has changed and if my Pheonix is included since Parker didnt really come out with a new top of the line this year. Chrud
Re: Another \'05 Bow Rankings Not sure where to find it, but the rankings from the link I posted had the Mathews Outback as #1 in 2004. The Browning Illusion looks like a nice bow. Looks real close to an Outback.

Tominator
Re: Another \'05 Bow Rankings I don't think you'll ever have a fair test or a test that actually means anything in any of those magazine. As careful as they say they are, there will always be some kind of bias IMHO. I'd stick to what I always say: Go shoot a bunch and decide what's best for you.
